Scored Assessment For Effectiveness

SAFE - An I/T Project Audit Offering

MARDON has developed SAFE, a quantified scoring method to determine importance and effectiveness of each I/T project component.

As I/T projects move from infancy to maturity, different project activities and components have relatively different levels of importance.

Comparing the importance of each project component to how effectively it is being performed leads to a thorough understanding by the executives of:

  • Project components "at risk"
  • Allocation of funds and resources to each project component
  • Success probabilities and actions required to improve success
  • Inhibitors and mitigation actions.

SAFE provides company officers with a proven and effective way of addressing aspects of "due diligence".

SAFE Project Components

Strategic Risks: Acquisition/merger diligence, Customer/Client impacts, Service Providers/Vendors impacts, and Business Functions at risk.

Planning: Project timeline reality check, business function, remediation prioritization, and schedule, contingencies, and mission/design definitions.

Project Management: Effectiveness, efficiencies, and related costs of project structure and work segmentation, project tracking, change and problem management processes, third party compliance, and project documentation creation.

Implementation Issues: Effectiveness and related project cost impacts of repair/replace/removal strategy, extent of inter and intra-systems interfaces identification, remediation tool sets being utilized, selected repair and testing techniques, and testing strategy.

Human Resources: Adequacy of assigned full time equivalent internal and outsourced staff to achieve timely remediation, skills and training of the project staff, and staff retention programs.
