CICS TS V3.1 Migration Class (1 ½ Days) MCE Inc.
This is a similar offering as the IBM CICS TS V3.1 Transition class, but this offering allows the students to pick the teaching units, does not use hands-on labs, and the class will cover the use of the MSK as an integral part of the various teaching units migration content. The BigBlueSoftware alliance can provide its clients with no charge customized Migration Support Kits (MSK) that cover all of the tasks required to migrate to CICS TS 3.1 from V4.1, V1.2, V2.2, or V2.3.
At the completion of this class, the student should be able to:
· List the features and enhancements to CICS TS for z/OS V3.1
· Describe CICS Web services support
· Identify and plan for the following features and enhancements: HTTP V1.1 compliance, SOAP feature, pipelining, chunking, channels and containers, Web Application Programming Interface (API) for outbound HTTP requests, CPSM, and new utility programs: DFHLS2WS and DFHWS2LS
· State the hardware and software requirements of CICS TS for z/OS
· Locate CICS technical information using the IBM Information Center & MSK
· Describe the function of CICS-related program products
· Applying the Migration Support Kit Plan to your migration
This class can be taught either via the web or as a stand up on-site class (minimum of six students). Price is $550/student for the full one and one-half (1½ ) day version with all teach topics or $450/student for a one-day customized version. See the course outline below for the teaching units details.
